The Torch of Champions – WVU Hope Coliseum

The iconic Hope Coliseum at West Virginia University has served as the heartbeat for West Virginia University sports and events for over five decades. After a new 10-year deal between WVU and Hope Gas, our friends at City Neon USA were brought in to help design, build and install new signage with a fresh, high-energy aesthetic honoring the historic legacy. The result? Beautiful new signage on the building, and a visually stunning entrance sign equipped with a large 10mm double-faced Vantage LED digital display.

The impressive, nearly 50-foot sign spotlighted by Sign Builder Illustrated, serves as a visual beacon for the campus. It features a rotating flame, the iconic flying WV logo, and a double-faced 10mm Flex V-Series Vantage LED digital display. City Neon skillfully managed every phase of the project—including permitting, fabrication, and delivery—ensuring the venue remained fully operational even as they installed new building signage at each gate entrance.3

City Neon collaborated closely with Vantage LED to guarantee a seamless installation and superior long-term performance. By leveraging Vantage LED’s robust seven-year warranty, lifetime support, and the cutting-edge SM Infinity online platform, the team provided WVU with a secure and user-friendly operational experience.
